WhatsApp’s premium subscription service has not yet been officially launched and is only available to beta users. This means that only members of the WhatsApp beta program can access the Premium menu, where all the extra features are located.
According to WABetainfothe premium plan will be tailored to businesses, meaning most of the paid features won’t be particularly useful to the average user.
Reportedly, the premium account gives you a customizable contact link to your WhatsApp, which can be changed once every three months. It should be an easier way for customers to find a particular company instead of entering a phone number. Telegram has a similar feature where users can share a direct contact link with others.
The paid version of the app also allows up to 10 devices to be connected to the same account at the same time. This allows employees to link and manage the business account. Finally, you can make a video call with up to 32 participants.
Since the functionality is still in beta, WhatsApp has not come forward with an official statement or announcement, so we don’t know the price or launch date of the new subscription service.
