Vivo X80 Pro+ scrapped, Vivo X90 Series to be the next flagship

A Vivo representative told GSM Arena that the company has canceled the Vivo X80 Pro+ and that it is almost time for the X90 series, which is said to be released in late 2022. The Vivo X90 series is rumored to be launched in December and may come with significant improvements over its predecessor. The Vivo X90 Pro+ is expected to be the top model in the Vivo X90 series, according to reports.

The Vivo X70 series was launched in September last year and within the next seven months, Vivo first released the Vivo X80 series in April, launching in India in May. Given the timeline, it’s almost time for the Vivo X90 series to make its debut, at least in China. Previously, the Vivo X90 series was tipped to debut in December this year, with the launch in India a little later.

Specifications of the Vivo X90 Series

The Vivo X90 series is rumored to come with a new 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset which could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Vivo X90 Pro+ may also come with a 1-inch camera sensor and a new telephoto shooter. The Vivo X90 Pro+ is also expected to come with a new Samsung E6 AMOLED display and UFS 4.0 storage.

The Vivo X80 Pro+ was previously expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 along with an improved camera setup that would reportedly replace the two 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel telephoto lenses with 50-megapixel units. It was rumored that the Vivo X80 Pro+ would also come with support for 200W fast charging and a high-quality AMOLED display. We cannot yet confirm whether the X90 Pro+ will have 200W fast charging or not.
