Udupi, December 15: Manipal Academy of Higher Education has won the prestigious award for best practice competition 2022 Trophy for its unique process “Paperless examing using Exam pad (E – pad)” in Education category.
The competition was run by IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) Trust Mumbai.
The trophy was received at MAHE and was recently presented by lt gen (Dr) MD Venkatesh, vice chancellor to Dr. Vinod V Thomas, registrar evaluation in a formal position at Manipal.
The efforts of the Quality and Compliance Team were appreciated by the Vice-Chancellor for their support and cooperation during the application process.
Lieutenant General (Dr) MD Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor said: “I feel privileged and honored to be here to celebrate the contributions and remarkable achievement of MAHE, which has a major impact on the environment through the use of paper reduced during evaluation. I congratulate registrar evaluation and its team on this prestigious award. The current education system is looking for new dimensions and new explorations, and I am convinced that MAHE develops, explores and leads it from scratch.”
Speaking of the occasion, registrar evaluation of MAHE Dr. Vinod V Thomas: “MAHE is the first and only university to switch to the full digitization of the exam process is a unique and best practice. The main practice from an academic perspective is the possibility of Result and competency analysis in an easy and foolproof way thanks to the availability of complete exam data in an electronic format. Not only did the soft forms of questionnaires and answer scripts for students make archiving and retrieving data seamless.”
Further adding to his statement, he said, “Thanks to this robust and innovative technology, MAHE is now conducting all of its investigations authentically and more transparently with improved operational efficiency. We are proud to be able to do our bit for the environment.”
The goal behind the idea was to strictly prohibit the use of papers for exams, as this process helped MAHE to drastically reduce paper consumption, which in a way helped protect 500 trees in recent years.
Dr. Giridhar P Kini, Registrar, Dr. Christopher Sudhakar, Director of Quality, Dr. Madhukar Mallya, and Dr. Sreejith G, Deputy Registrars of the Evaluation Section attended the occasion where they also congratulated and wished to continue the good work for the society .
