Teachers at state-sponsored colleges in West Bengal will soon be able to apply for online transfers, Education Minister Bratya Basu said Friday.
At this time, the transfer requests could only be submitted by visiting the office of the Higher Education Department, which involves a time-consuming process. Finding vacancies at other universities of applied sciences is also cumbersome.
The online system will help teachers at 450 state-sponsored colleges, Basu told reporters after meeting with department officials. “We are introducing this system to ensure transparency.
Any teacher can see vacancies online and apply for a vacancy,” he said. “We will make a formal announcement in the next two to three days,” he said.
