TCS Ends Work From, Asks Employees To Come To Office Thrice A Week

TCS requires employees to work in the office at least three days a week

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has asked its employees to work in the office at least three days a week, ending the full-time working from home that has been adopted as a result of the pandemic, with more information technology companies moving to a hybrid model.

TCS stated in an email to employees that its senior employees already work from the office and that customers also visit the TCS offices.

It also states that managers will make a schedule and that employees must work in the office at least three days a week.

“Compliance with the rosters is mandatory and will be followed… any non-compliance will be taken seriously and administrative action may be taken,” the email read.

Speaking about the new mandate, a TCS spokesperson told Times of India that they are working in phases to get the employees back to the office and that it is in line with the “vision of the company to move to the 25X25 model” .

According to the model, no more than 25 percent of TCS employees will have to work from the office at any given time. It is expected to be implemented in 2025.

For now, employees have not been given a deadline to return to the office, but they are advised to contact their managers to find out what has been made for their projects under the new work plan.

The roster will be based on project requirements and a mix of freshmen and experienced professionals will be called to the office, a TCS spokesperson told Moneycontrol.

TCS said it has started the process of making a phased transition from TCS’ Secure Borderless Workspaces (SBWS) to a more hybrid model, allowing most of its employees to work from the office several days of the week.

The company added that it has strengthened its internal processes to facilitate this transition.
