Stress laid on opportunity focused education

Vice Chancellor Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu of the Central University of Kerala (CUK) will open a national seminar at Manathavady in Wayanad on Wednesday.

The vice-chancellor of Central University of Kerala (CUK), Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu, has said that opportunity-oriented education is the need of the hour.

At the opening of a national seminar on ‘Lessons of Entrepreneurship in Higher Education’ at Mary Matha College here on Wednesday, Prof Venkateshwarlu said that students should place importance on acquiring skills-based education rather than obtaining an ordinary diploma.

As the new education policy focuses on skills-based education, reducing unemployment and entrepreneurship, it could give the budding generation the confidence to live better lives, he said.

prof. Venkateshwarlu advised students to visit institutions like the National Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Technology to gain experiential knowledge and understand the importance of skills-based education.

The program was organized by the college’s commerce department as part of the academic partnership with the CUK. Principal dr. Maria Martin Joseph chaired the position. Experts provided several sessions.
