Former Indian cricketer and member of 1983 World Cup winning team Roger Binny is likely to be the next BCCI president to replace Sourav Ganguly, according to BCCI sources. Binny was previously a member of the BCCI selection committee. Former pacesetter Roger Binny would be the frontrunner to replace Ganguly as the BCCI president and Jay Shah is expected to continue as the BCCI secretary.

Roger Binny’s name appeared on the BCCI’s draft electoral lists (on the BCCI website) on Thursday for the October 18 elections and the annual general meeting as a representative of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on Thursday in place of KSCA secretary Santosh Menon. All this led to speculation that a former navigator would be the frontrunner for the position of BCCI president.

According to sources, Sourav Ganguly is likely to be India’s representative for the position of chairman of the International Cricket Council.

The nominations can be filled in on October 11 and 12, the nominations review will take place on October 13, and the candidates can withdraw their nominations by October 14 at the latest. The elections will be held here on October 18.
