India today celebrates the 74th Republic Day with a grand parade rolling down the Kartavya trail, formerly known as Rajpath. This will be the first parade on the renewed ceremonial boulevard. The parade, which starts at 10:30 am, will be a mix of the country’s military strength and cultural diversity. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is this year’s main guest.

As India celebrates its 74th Republic Day today, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese greeted Indians. In his message, Albanese called it a “moment” to honor the “rich culture and impressive achievements of modern India”. Australia’s High Commissioner for India, Barry O’Farrell, shared Albanese’s post on Twitter.
In the message, Albanese said: “It is an opportunity for all of Indian descent, including Australia’s diverse and vibrant diaspora communities, to unite around their shared love of India and their shared belief in the future.”
Albanese went on to say, “It’s also a reminder of all that our shared future holds, all that we should look forward to as we continue to strengthen and deepen our ties.”
On the occasion of Republic Day, the national flag has been raised at the Wagah-Attari border.

Combined marching contingent from Egypt to participate in the Republic Day Parade
For the first time, a combined band and marching contingent of the Egyptian Armed Forces will take part in the ceremonial parade. Six Agniveers will be part of the Navy’s marching contingent today in celebration of the 74th Republic Day when the ceremonial parade will take place on the Kartavya trail amid patriotic fervor.
“Warm greetings to all compatriots on the occasion of the 74th Republic Day. Today I salute all those freedom fighters, constitution makers and brave soldiers who dedicated their lives to liberate, strengthen and protect the country,” the interior minister tweeted of the Union, Amit Shah. in Hindi.

“Many wishes for the Republic Day. This time, this occasion is also special as we celebrate it during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. We want to move forward in unity to fulfill the dreams of the country’s great freedom fighters. Happy Republic Goodbye to all our compatriots,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet in Hindi.

Republic Day Security: 6,000 personnel deployed in Delhi, 150 CCTVs
Security has been enhanced in several parts of Delhi ahead of the 74th Republic Day celebrations. Police officers were thoroughly checking vehicles. Crossroads, checkpoints with sniffer dogs and metal detectors are heavily barricaded. About 65,000 people will witness the parade today, according to the Delhi Police. Access is only given to valid pass holders and ticket purchasers. About 6,000 jawans have been deployed for the security of the parade. The Kartavya trail will be monitored using about 150 CCTV cameras, which also have high-resolution cameras.
