Redmi Note 12 series may launch in India in first week of January: Report

Xiaomi recently launched its Redmi Note 12 series in China. The series consists of Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be launching the series in India soon. According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the company could unveil the Redmi Note 12 series on January 5, 2022.

“Time to reveal the SuperNote launch date. Can confirm that the Redmi Note 12 series will be launched in India on January 5. ⁣Redmi Note 12, Note 12 Pro, Pro+ are all 5G ready for India. 12 Pro+: 200MP main camera,” the tweet reads.

According to the tweet, the company will launch all three models of the series in the Indian market: Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. The smartphones are 5G ready and will be equipped with a camera of up to 200 MP on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.

Here’s what to expect

As mentioned above, the Redmi Note 12 series is already available in China. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is the high-end phone with a starting price of CNY 2,099 (approx. 23,000). The base model of the phone has 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage. In India, it can be priced below Price category 25,000.

The smartphone may have a 6.67-inch Full HD OLED display. The phone may offer a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The smartphone is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset. It is expected to offer up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM.

On the camera front, the upcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is said to offer a quad camera on the back. There might be a 200MP main sensor on the back along with three other sensors. On the front, the smartphone might be equipped with a 16MP camera for selfies.

The device is likely to be backed by a 5,000 mAh battery. It may support fast charging up to 120 watts.
