An essay competition has been organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) for students from grades 9 to 12. Winning candidates will have a chance to participate and ask questions in ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ with the Prime Minister.
Vikas Garad, director of the SCERT’s coordination department, said of the competition that there are separate subjects for students from all boards of education to participate in.
“Parents, teachers and students can register for the essay writing contest on the website until Dec. 30. Students from the state board, CBSE board and ICSE can register for this contest,” said Garad.
For students, some topics for the essays are ‘know your freedom fighter’, ‘our culture is our pride’, ‘save the environment for future generations’, ‘my startup dream’ and others. Teachers can write about things like ‘a stimulating learning environment’, ‘our heritage’, ‘less study load and no fear of exams’ and ‘education for skills’. Adults and parents can write about ‘adult education’, ‘learning and growing together’.
Garad added that the topics are varied for children and teachers.
“Some subjects focus on the National Education Policy. Teachers and students can write their thoughts on how NEP will positively impact the education system,” said Garad.
