KORAPUT: A large number of teachers in Nabarangpur district brooms swept the office of the district education officer (DEO) on Thursday in protest at the additional DEO’s alleged misconduct towards a school principal.
The teachers, under the banner of the District Primary Teachers Association (DPTA), claimed that on September 8, during his visit to Bhendia High School under the Chandahandi block, additional DEO Resham Lal Naik had asked the school principal, Jagdish Gouda, for a sweeping the classroom. was unclean. They swept not only the entire office but also the extra DEO’s room as a sign of protest.

DEO (Nabarangpur) Pradeep Kumar Das expressed his dismay at the whole incident. “It is an unfortunate incident and nothing was done on purpose. I apologize to the teachers on behalf of the department,” said Das.
