Sonu Kumar Jha, a tea seller, has made an offer to pay a monthly rent of Rs 3.25 lakh for a 2.2 by 2 meter kiosk in Noida’s Sector 18.
Noida Authority held an auction earlier this month for the Kisk K-3 along with six other kiosks under its “commercial kiosk allocation”. The base price of the kiosk was about Rs 27,000 per month.
Kiosk K-3 is located near Triangle Park opposite McDonald’s fast food restaurant chain in Sector-18 market.
Sonu Kumar Jha sells gutka and tea along with his other relatives. There were 20 other contenders participating in the auction.
“Sonu will have to pay 14 months rent in advance to Noida Authority i.e. about Rs 45 lakh to own the kiosk,” said Sonu’s father, Digambar Jha in an interview with NDTV.
Sonu’s father is confident that his son will make a profit from the business. They plan to sell more food related items.
Digambar Jha told NDTV that Noida Authority often removes unauthorized stores. With the K-3 kiosk there will be no such problems and it will be a permanent solution.
