Meta introduces new sharing features on Instagram to help users collaborate and connect with friends : The Tribune India

San Francisco, Dec. 14

Meta has introduced new sharing features to Instagram, including “Notes,” which help users feel closer to the people they care about.

“Notes” is a new way for users to share their thoughts and see what their friends are up to, Meta said in a blog post Tuesday.

Notes are short messages of up to 60 characters containing only text and emojis. This feature has already been rolled out to users.

Meta is also testing new features in Stories, including “Add Yours Nominations” and “Candid Stories.”

Instagram is expanding the previously launched ‘Add Yours in Stories’ feature with the introduction of the ‘Add Yours Nominations’ feature, which allows users to invite friends to join by tapping submit.

Candid Stories is a new way to capture and share what users are doing right now in a story visible only to those who also share their own story.

“We’re testing new features to give people more ways to collaborate and connect with friends in groups,” the company said.

With the new ‘Group Profiles’ feature, users will soon be able to create and join a new special profile to share messages and stories with friends.

Whenever users share content to a group profile, that content is shared only with group members instead of their followers and this content is posted to the group profile instead of their own followers.

Meta is also testing the “Collaborative Collections” feature that allows users to connect with friends about their shared interests by saving posts to a collaborative collection in their group or 1:1 DMs.
