Man chops up father, throws pieces into water well in Bagalkot
The murder came to light after the police questioned him based on the complaint of the victim’s wife
A 20-year-old man is said to have killed his father and chopped the body into more than 14 pieces, which he threw into an abandoned well near Mudhol in Bagalkot district late Monday night.
Vithal Kulali (20), the suspect, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his father Parashuram Kulali (54), the police said.
Vithal killed his father by repeatedly hitting him with an iron bar around midnight. He decided to cut up the body and throw the pieces into the borehole on his farmland near Mantur Bypass on the outskirts of Mudhol, as he feared he would be caught if he buried the body.
He told police that his father would often abuse and attack him in a drunken state. He could no longer bear the torture and killed him.
The murder came to light after the police questioned him based on the complaint of the victim’s wife.
The police used an excavator and found the body parts.
