Adani Group had made a bid of ₹1289 crores and according to sources has won the bid for Ahmedabad, followed by Mumbai Indians for Mumbai at a cost of ₹912.99 crores for a 10-year license. The other three winners are Capri Global for ₹757 crore, JSW Group for ₹810 crore and RCB (₹901 crore) for Bangalore. Capri Global will own either Kolkata or Chennai and JSW Group would most likely own Delhi.
The lowest bid came from Rajasthan Royals at a cost of ₹180 crore followed by Haldiram at a cost of ₹240 croroes while Kolkata Knight Riders had offered a bid amount of ₹666 crore.
D-day has arrived and January 25 will set the benchmark on the commercial front for women’s cricket. The event was to take place in Mumbai where 15 bidders would compete for five WIPL teams. The aspirants will submit their financial bids to own one of the five women’s IPL teams for a period of 10 years (2023-32). The five winners will be announced later in the day. Seven IPL teams would be in contention and in addition, there are surprising players like Haldirams who will also make a bid.
