Know About Competency-Based Questions; Update On Class 10, 12 Time Table

CBSE Class 10, 12 Date Sheet 2023 Expected Soon

CBSE Exam 2023: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon release class 10, 12 board exam date sheet for 2022-23 academic session. As per the earlier announcements made by the board officials, CBSE will commence the 2023 high school (grade 10) and intermediate (grade 12) exams from February 15. The board has also notified the revised exam pattern for CBSE 10th, 12th exams 2023. For the For the first time, the 2023 CBSE Board Examination Questionnaires will include competency-based questions in the Classes 10 and 12 exams.

The new pattern of Class 10 and 12 question forms will include multiple formats such as objective type, construction answer type, assertion and reasoning, and by case histories. According to the MOT inputs, State Minister of Education Annapurna Devi said in response to a written inquiry in Lok Sabha, “During the 2022-23 academic session, about 40 per cent questions in class 10 are exams and about 30 per cent questions in class 12 are competency based.”





“Following NEP-2020, CBSE has introduced competency-based questions in the class 10 and 12 exams to reform the exam pattern. These questions include multiple formats, such as objective type, construction answer type, assertion and reasoning, and case-based format,” she added. The minister indicates that the decision has been made in the conviction of the new National Education Policy 2020. CBSE has also advised affiliated schools to follow the recommendations of the new education policy with regard to the education pattern.

In addition, the CBSE also announced the decision on the introduction of a minimum of 30 percent competency-based questions in the form of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions, source-based integrated questions, etc. The board also stated that 20 percent of objective-type questions will be and the remaining 50 percent of the short and long answer type, following the existing pattern. The CBSE Board has previously announced that the CBSE practical exams will start on January 1, 2023 and the theory exams will start on February 15, 2023. The board has yet to announce the full datasheets for the 2023 Class 10 and Class 12 theory exams. Once the CBSE date list is out, candidates can download it from the official website: cbse.nic.in.
