Kendriya Vidyalayas not hit by shortage of teachers: Education Ministry

Amid reports that Kendriya Vidyalayas was hit by staff shortages, the Ministry of Education clarified on Monday that there is no shortage of principals and teachers in KVs across the country.

Annapurna Devi, state minister of education, said that the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has conducted a rationalization exercise to ensure that sufficient permanent teachers are available in the school across the country.

She went on to say: “There is not such a shortage of principals and teachers as teachers are regularly hired on a contract basis in anticipation of regular recruitment, which has recently been advertised.”

In response to a question as to whether there was no career advancement scheme or a transfer policy that resulted in many having to spend five to seven years at far-flung stations, and they complain of a “policy paralysis”, Devi said there are notified career schemes. promotion and advancement guidelines for all categories of personnel in the KVS.

In her written response in Lok Sabha, she said: “There is no policy paralysis and KVS has actively made special efforts to address learning loss due to the pandemic. Such learning recovery measures, depending on the needs of the students, include recovery measures taken. to address each student’s problem and difficult areas, additional classes, assign expert teachers for personalized attention, parental involvement, use of technology and specific instructional materials and worksheets and workbooks to meet students’ specific learning needs.

According to PTI, Devi also refuted reports that several executives are frustrated at being forced to work double shifts and therefore complained of “employee unrest.”
