Prior to the film’s release, Kareena Kapoor had expressed her thoughts about the ongoing cancellation culture in Bollywood. She said that while anyone can have an opinion about anything, she thinks a good movie can top it all. Recalling people’s reaction to her words, the actor was asked in a recent interview about claims she may have been disrespectful to the public.

When RJ Siddharth Kannan asked Kareena if her thoughts were taken as ‘public ko light le rahin hain kya? (Being carefree or disrespectful to the public).’ She replied, “I think it’s just some of the people who are trolling. But really, I think the love the movie gets is very different. This is just some of the people who are likely to be on your social media, which is probably about 1%.

“But the fact is they shouldn’t boycott this movie, it’s such a beautiful movie. And I want people to see me and Aamir (Khan) on the screen. It’s been three years, we’ve waited so long. So please don’t boycott this movie, because it’s basically the same as boycotting good cinema. And people have worked so hard on it; we’ve had 250 people work on this film for two and a half years,” she added, urging people not to boycott the film.

Meanwhile, Laal Singh Chaddha opened the box office with disappointing business. On the first day it only earned about 10-11 million. Protests against the film are also taking place in parts of India, including Uttar Pradesh over alleged hurtful feelings. Earlier it was Aamir who said he gets sad when people think he doesn’t like his country. Calling it unfortunate, he added, “That’s not the case,” during the film’s promotion, asking people not to cancel his film.
