India vs Bangladesh scorecard, ball to ball commentary

When the Rahul Dravid-Rohit Sharma combination took charge of the Indian team a year ago, hope was in the air. There was talk of a long-term plan with a feeder system that delivers appropriate talent and clarity about player roles. The team had no real gaps. There was no shortage of a proper No. 4 as was the case at the 2019 ODI World Cup, and a fit again Hardik Pandya had even ended India’s long search for a fast-bowling all-rounder.

Instead, there has been chaos and conservative experimentation. There are far too many questions for current team management to answer. At the beginning of last year they said they were going to focus on the T20 World Cup. That bombed. And now, after losing the ODI series to Bangladesh, Dravid said that they will start focusing on the ODI World Cup from next month, January 2023.

For that to happen, the BCCI and the team management must be confused. With the World Cup at home in less than a year, here are a few questions they need to answer at the earliest. [Read more]
