New Delhi [India]Oct 14 (ANI): India attends the 6th East Asia Minister of Education meeting to be held Friday in Hanoi, Vietnam.
According to the Ministry of Education, Neeta Prasad, the Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) of the Ministry of Education addressed the meeting virtually and briefed on the key initiatives of the National Education Policy 2020 and India’s cooperation efforts in education and research with partner -EAS countries.
Speaking, she said that NEP 2020 encourages a holistic, flexible and multidisciplinary approach to education as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is based on fundamental pillars of access, equity, quality, affordability and accountability and aligned with the SDG 2030- goals.
She also mentioned the recently launched PM SHRI scheme where more than 14,500 schools will be developed across India with all components of NEP 2020 as exemplary schools. These schools will offer mentorship to other schools in their area.
She said that online, open and multimodal learning has been vigorously promoted under our PM-eVidya and also mentioned several e-learning platforms such as DIKSHA, SWAYAM MOOCS platform, Virtual Labs, e-PG Pathshala and National Digital Library, among many others.
Neeta Prasad underlined that NEP 2020 focuses on the internationalization of education and establishing partnerships with other countries.
She added that India really appreciates the educational cooperation with EAS countries. She also emphasized India’s commitment to work with EAS member countries. (ANI)
