FMGs to pick internship only in NMC-recognised medical colleges

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has warned medical aspirants for foreign medical graduates (FMGs) to take their mandatory rotating medical internships (CRMI) only at the colleges approved by the NMC for this role. On Thursday, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UMEB) told medical aspirants that their 12-month compulsory internship in India should only be completed in NMC-approved colleges, and not in independent institutions/clinics that are not affiliated with any institute that is. does not have the green signal from NMC to offer CRMIs to FMGs.

In addition, NMC also clarified that independent PG institutes providing DNB-PDCET and non-teaching hospitals are not entitled to perform the CRMI, after the publication of the NMC CRMI Regulations, 2021. Candidates are advised to read the state-by-state list of colleges approved by NMC for CRMI.
