Guwahati, December 13: In an important instruction issued by the Department of School Education, it is stipulated that all subject teachers in schools will be required to teach lower grades in order to teach lower grades.
The decision has been made considering the interest of the students and taking into account the recommendation of the National Education Policy, 2020 (NEP)
According to the Department of School Education memorandum, it is noted that the schools have sufficient postgraduate teachers as teaching staff in the amalgamated or enhanced secondary schools.
Even the standard of the courses and syllabus are also upgraded to national and global standard for competitive readiness of the students.
“Henceforth, replacing all previous orders, the postgraduate teachers shall extend their teaching services from class VI to class Xll in all high schools of the state,” the order said.
It has also stipulated that the head of institutions of the respective secondary schools will allocate classes to all teachers in the school and in particular to the postgraduate teachers.
The guideline was issued by Dr. Bijoya Chaudhary, Secretary, Department of School Education on Dec 12, 2022. The decision was made by the Department of Education in the interest of improving the quality of education in the state.
