~CSMIA aims to accelerate the movement of passengers from the entrance to the gate~
Mumbai: Passenger experience has always been a top priority and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) makes sure it starts from the airport curb. CSMIA has installed 2D barcode readers at the entrance gates of Terminals 1 and 2, once again demonstrating its commitment to understanding passenger needs for a hassle-free travel experience. From January 26, 2023, CISF agents manning the entrance gates of the CSMIA terminal will scan the barcodes of the ticket or boarding pass instead of manually checking the flight tickets. CSMIA implemented the 2D barcode readers to speed up access to the terminal while improving customer satisfaction.
With more than 900+ flight movements per day, the airport welcomes around 150,000 passengers per day. CSMIA’s goal is to improve efficiency and accelerate passenger travel. This new addition is not only a safety improvement, but also an efficiency improvement measure, both of which are critical for an airport that handles approximately 48 million passengers annually.
CSMIA has always set a benchmark for providing best-in-class services at the airport. It is the airport’s vision to provide an unforgettable passenger experience by providing a high level of comfort and convenience to its passengers. CSMIA has been at the forefront of developing infrastructure at the airport by increasing capacity and creating robust process management. The airport is constantly striving to provide advanced technology, making it a ‘Gateway to Goodness’ and enabling the free flow of passengers.
