The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has placed an advertisement to award Doctoral Fellowships 2022.
In view of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a new set of priority areas for NCERT PhD scholarships has been identified. The research proposals related to these priority areas are given priority for mandates. PhD scholarship holders can continue their work in a recognized university/research institution of their choice.

Good academic record with at least 60% marks in both graduate and postgraduate levels.
Candidates must not be older than 35 years on the last date of receipt of applications.
Candidates registered for Ph.D. degree from an accredited university/or working toward their Ph.D. registration are eligible to apply.
Four of the 10 scholarships are reserved for 4 Regional Educational Institutes (RIEs), one for Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore. However, if no candidate is found suitable from RIEs, the fellowship will be offered to other suitable candidates, the NCERT advertisement read. The scholarships are limited to only highly deserving candidates. If no suitable candidates are available, the Council cannot select all 10 Fellows.
Scholarship amount
NCERT Doctoral Fellows will receive a fellowship of Rs.23,000 per month (for non-NET) and Rs.25,000 per month (in the case of NET qualified candidates) for a maximum period of three years from the date of permanent Ph.D. registration and/or date of selection in NCERT. They also receive a contingency allowance of Rs.10,000 per annum during this period.
