Cabinet has approved the signing of the agreement between India and the UAE
The Union cabinet on Wednesday approved an agreement signed between the ministries of education in India and the UAE on cooperation in education. The aim of the agreement is to further strengthen our educational cooperation between India and the UAE and broaden the scope of the assignments.
“In 2015, an MoU was signed with the UAE in the field of education, which expired in 2018. In 2019, at a meeting between the education ministers of the two countries, the UAE side proposed to adopt a new MoU. The new MoU incorporates changes made by the New National Education Policy 2020 to India’s education ecosystem,” an official statement said.
The agreement aims to promote the exchange of information education, capacity development of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) teaching staff, and to promote academic cooperation between higher education institutions (HEIs) in both countries for the provision of twinning, joint degree and dual degree programs and all other agreed areas.
This agreement will rejuvenate educational cooperation and increase academic mobility between India and the UAE, in addition to facilitating the exchange of information to promote the mutual recognition of these qualifications. It also includes the cooperation in TVET as the UAE is a major work destination for Indians, the statement said.
“The Agreement is valid for a period of five years from the date of signature and will be automatically renewed with the agreement of both parties. Upon signature, this MoU will replace the previous MoU signed with the UAE in 2015, which will then no longer be valid is. have an effect,” it added.
