Black Friday smartwatches and fitness trackers deals

Amazon Black Friday is here, and if you’re in the market for a new smartwatch or fitness tracker, then it’s time to peruse some deals. Here’s a list of smartwatch and smartband deals from Amazon US, Amazon UK and Amazon DE.

Smart watches

Kicking off the list of smartwatches is Apple’s best dog – Apple Watch Ultra. Sure, it costs a pretty penny/pence, but you’re getting a real rugged smartwatch with all the bells and whistles offered by Cupertino, and it’s a few bucks off the usual price. Apple is not a fan of high discounts.

Next is the Apple Watch Series 8 Aluminium from $449 / £509 / €569 for the 41mm version (GPS + Cellular), while the 45mm is $479 / £529 / €609. Apple has been refining its Watch Series for years, and the eighth iteration offers all the expected health and sports tracking features in addition to the new temperature sensor, crash detection feature, and a low-power mode.

Next up is a Wear OS entry – the Pixel watch from Google. This is one of the most elegant and unique smartwatches out there, and it definitely has that premium feel. We liked the snappy Wear OS 3.5 and improved fitness tracking via Google Fit, but like all first-generation products, the Pixel Watch falls short in some areas, especially battery life. Nevertheless, it is an excellent addition to any Android phone, especially if you are a Pixel phone user.

Samsung has a lot of watches on offer and Galaxy Watch5 Pro is the latest and greatest. The LTE-equipped model works out to $429 / £429 / €392 depending on your market. You have the full-fledged Wear OS 3.5 experience with the added One UI Watch overlay on top. The build is top-notch with sapphire glass and a titanium case, and there’s some advanced health tracking, including BMI readings and ECG monitoring.

The standard Galaxy Watch5 is another option to consider. It comes in 40mm and 44m sizes and runs the same Wear OS 3.5 with One UI Watch on top, just like the Pro model, but with less premium aluminum bodies and watch bands and smaller batteries.

The older Watch4 generation is also offered with the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic and Galaxy Watch4 models. Watch4 Classic has the fan-favorite rotating bezel, while Watch4 is an excellent option for its discounted price with most of the health and fitness tracking features of the Watch5 series.

If the Pixel Watch is too small and you’re not a fan of Samsung’s One UI 4.5, there’s the Fossil Gen 6, which also launches Wear OS (the old version), although an update to Wear OS 3 is available. This is a solid, premium watch with a capable operating system and all the health and activity tracking features you could want.

from Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is a great alternative to the Wear OS crowd, and it’s down to £249/€279. You get flagship build quality with sapphire crystal glass and a titanium frame alongside 10+ day battery life with most of the health and activity tracking enabled – something you don’t see with the Wear OS competitors.

We’ve also rounded up a few Garmin watches for those who take their running and sports tracking seriously. The last Garmin Phoenix 7 model is down to $599.99 / £499.99 / €568.36. It provides the ultimate sports and activity tracking experience with detailed metrics for running, cycling, skiing, swimming, golf, and strength training, among others.

The Garmin Forerunner 245 Music Edition is an even cheaper option in the world of top-notch fitness tracking. The added benefit of the Music Edition is that you can stream music using native Spotify/Deezer and Amazon Music apps, as well as local music storage (3.5GB), which can hold up to 500 songs on the watch.

Smart bands

While smartwatches are definitely useful companions to our smartphone or even replacements in certain cases, smartbands are a great alternative with most of the health and sports tracking features at a fraction of the price.

Fitbit Charge 5 is one such option with a 1-inch OLED screen, built-in GPS, and sleek design. You also get a body temperature sensor and Fitbit’s premium health and fitness tracking options.

Amazfit makes some great smart wearables and the Amazfit band 7 is a great option for $39.99 / €49.90. It offers a 1.47-inch AMOLED display, Amazon Alexa, sports tracking for over 120 activities, and 5ATM water resistance.
