A student of the state-run Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) in Bihar’s Darbhanga district achieved 151 out of 100 in one paper, to his astonishment. The BA (Honours) candidate who got the marks in his Political Science part-2 exam was quoted as saying that he had scored high in his coursework during a press conference on Sunday.
“I was shocked when I saw the results. Despite being a temporary grade sheet, authorities should have double-checked it before issuing the result,” he added. Another student who failed Accounting and Finance paper-4 in his BCom part-2 test was advanced to the next grade.
“I was told that the university had acknowledged their mistake, and they offered me a new mark sheet,” he said. The registrar at the varsity, Mushtaq Ahmed, said this.
Both papers had typing mistakes, according to the registrar at GIKIPUR University, Mushtaq Ahmed. “The two students were given fresh mark sheets after correcting the typographical errors. They were simply technical errors; there was nothing else wrong with them,” Mr Ahmed said.
