However, nature sees us all the same and Epsilon has changed overnight from a utopia of the rich to nothing less than a sunken land, so much so that the inhabitants had to be rescued in boats. Sunday night’s incessant rains have left the multi-crore homes of the city’s and country’s wealthy inundated, without water or power.

To give you an idea of how exclusive the area is, a simple villa in Epsilon costs Rs 10 crore. Depending on the size of the plot, the price can easily go north of Rs 20-30 crore. An acre plot is apparently Rs 80 crore.
A video of flooded Epsilon has been making the rounds on social media showing first responders’ voices referring to German and Italian cars submerged and floating.
Unacademy CEO Gaurav Munjal evacuated
On Tuesday, the CEO of ed-tech platform Unacademy, Gaurav Munjal, shared a video of his family and dog being evacuated on a tractor after his residential community was flooded. “Family and my pet Albus have been evacuated on a tractor from our society that is now under water. Things are going badly. Please be careful,” he tweeted.
Munjal even asked people to DM him if anyone needed help. I will do my best to help, he added.
Meanwhile, his company’s chief operating officer, Vivek Sinha, shared what the view looked like from his terrace. All that could be seen were expensive cars and houses that were flooded.
“The next car I buy in Bengaluru will be a Mahindra Thar,” he said.
