Bengaluru: The ongoing downpour of recent days in Bengaluru has completely destroyed the lives of the people living in India’s own Silicon Valley. Not only those who live in the low-lying areas, but also the wealthy bear the brunt of nature.
One of those upscale residential areas in the city – Epsilon, eight miles from the central business district – is no exception to the rain and has been flooded with rainwater. Bengaluru’s most exclusive gated community is home to major wigs and billionaires such as billionaires Wipro chairman Rishad Premji, Britannia CEO Varun Berry.
The society is also home to some new-age startup billionaires such as Byju Raveendran, Big Basket co-founder Abhinay Choudhari. Page Industries (Jockey) MD Ashok Genomal is also among the select 150 people who live there.

However, nature sees us all the same and Epsilon has changed overnight from a utopia of the rich to nothing less than a sunken land, so much so that the inhabitants had to be rescued in boats. Sunday night’s incessant rains have left the multi-crore homes of the city’s and country’s wealthy inundated, without water or power.
