Arshdeep Singh became the top trend on social media after dropping a nanny in the 2022 Asia Cup Super 4 match at a very pivotal moment of the match. Asif Ali made the most of the opportunity, helping India beat Pakistan by five wickets.
Last Sunday, Pakistan lost to India in the league stage, but they recovered and started the Super4 stage with a win. Arshdeep, who skipped the final, conceded 27 runs from his 3.5 overs, and had the best economy among Indian bowlers with the exception of Ravi Bishnoi, but his dropped catch in the 18th on Ali, who was not yet once had opened his account, in short third man turned out to be the game changer. Pakistan rode on the luck of looting 19 runs from the penultimate over to get their noses ahead.

Arshdeep threw in the final with seven required runs, and threw fairly well, eventually removing Ali, but it was too late in the play as Pakistan won with two balls left. The victory was achieved by Mohammad Rizwan (71) and the tough Mohammad Nawaz (42) who took on Indian bowling in the middle overs. Before India, only Bishnoi had an economy of less than seven, while the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal made more than 10 runs per over.

However, Arshdeep bore the brunt of the angry Indian fans when many blamed him for the loss and even started abusing him and his family on various social media platforms. News18 refrains from adding the unsavory comments in this article, but the young pacesetter also found support from some social media users.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh also stepped forward to support the young pacer with his left arm.
