The upcoming Apple Watch 8 could have a massive 47mm flat screen, matching the design of the iPhone 13 Pro. Here’s what you need to know.
Apple is all set to unveil its latest version of iPhone, the iPhone 14, at its “Far Out” event scheduled for September 7, just a week from now. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also expected to launch the new Apple Watch 8. While much has been made of the new pill-shaped and perforated design of the iPhone 14 Pro variants, the upcoming Apple Watch Pro is expected to feature a massive 47mm flat screen, matching the design ideology of the iPhone 13 Pro.
According to rumors, Apple is expected to launch 3 variants of the Apple Watch this year: Apple Watch SE, Apple Watch 8 and the new Apple Watch Pro (Rugged). While the Apple Watch SE is expected to be an affordable and toned down version of the Apple Watch 8, the new Apple Watch Pro or Apple Watch Rugged is a brand new watch, with even better features and specs than the already impressive Apple Watch 8.
Apple Watch rumored features and specs
According to the Japanese website Mac Otakara, the rugged Apple Watch Pro will have a large 47mm body and a flat screen, just like the design of the iPhone 13 Pro. This would make the Apple Watch Pro 7 percent larger than the largest standard Apple Watch model. Earlier, Apple analyst Ross Young revealed that 45mm will not be the largest variant of the Apple Watch 8 as the company is expected to launch a new 50mm variant this year.
Earlier, analyst Mark Gurman tipped it could have a special body temperature sensor. The Pro model comes with a price tag of about $900, almost the same price as the iPhone 13 Pro.
