After Har Ghar Tiranga’s campaign, Aamir Khan also showed the tricolor at his home in Mumbai. The actor just saw the release of his movie, Laal Singh Chaddha.

Day after the release of his film Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir Khan showed the tricolor at his home in Mumbai on Friday to take part in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The campaign under the auspices of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav encourages people to take home and lift the Tiranga to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The central government has urged people to hoist or display the tricolor in their homes from August 13-15. Friday night, Aamir was spotted on his balcony with daughter Ira Khan. A tricolor was also visible at the railing.

On Thursday, Aamir returned to the silver screen after almost four years with the film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is the official remake of the Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump. It revolves around the life of the slow but good-hearted man Laal (Aamir) as he recounts the important events of his life, coinciding with many iconic events of Indian history.

Aamir was about to visit Assam for the Independence Day celebrations but was told to postpone his tour. Assam Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Friday that Aamir has postponed his planned visit to Assam until after the Independence Day celebrations at his request. The Assam CM asked Aamir to reduce his visit so that the “focus” is not distracted from the Independence Day gala.

Meanwhile, in Laal Singh Chaddha, a complaint has been filed against Aamir and others for allegedly “disrespecting the Indian military and hurting Hindu feelings”. Objections have been raised about how the film shows how a mentally retarded person is allowed to join the Indian army to fight in the Kargil war and Aamir’s line in the film: “Puja path is malaria, it causes riots”.
