40% questions in Class 10, 30% in Class 12 competency-based

The Department of Education said on Monday that CBSE Class 10 and 12 students will have 40 percent and 30 percent of questions competency-based on exam boards, respectively.

These competency based questions include objective type, assertion and reasoning, constructive answer type and case histories based informed Minister of Education Annapurna Devi in ​​response to a written question in Lok Sabha.

“Following NEP-2020, CBSE has introduced competency-based questions in the class 10 and 12 exams to reform the exam pattern. These questions will have multiple formats such as objective type, construction answer type, assertion and reasoning, and case-based size,” she said.

The minister went on to say: “In the 2022-23 academic session, about 40 percent of questions in class 10 exams and about 30 percent of questions in class 12 are competency-based.”
